Meet our students for 2018
Valencia Mavuso
Michelle Simpson's personal financial support in honour of a special birthday has made her slot possible for 2018
Cathy Harris will mentor Valencia for the 2018 Academic Year
Meet Valencia in her own words
"I live in Soweto with my 2 year old daughter. I am the second eldest in a family of 5 and am 30 years old. Life so far has been a challenge but I know and am grateful for the support and love from my family. I am very ambitious and therefore nothing will stand in my way of achieving success that will not only benefit me, but will also benefit my daughter and my family in the long run.
I am certainly a team player, reliable and goal driven person who is always looking for challenges that will develop and grow me. The Isipho Bursary is that challenge! I am beyond ecstatic that I was one of only 3 students to be granted the honor to participate in this life changing educational initiative. I am very grateful to Michelle Herkt Simpson for sponsoring my year of study at Rosebank College – my heart is so happy! I know I will make everyone proud of me. By completing this certificate and having the additional mentorship support, I know I will succeed mentally and I will achieve something that no one can take from me, which is my education and ultimate qualification. Through this bursary program I know I will be great and do great things. Failure is not associated with my name."

Bongiwe Tibane
Stacey King's financial support has made her slot possible for 2018
Li-Ann Meyer will be Bongiwe's mentor
In her own words
"I am Bongiwe Tibane, I was born and bred in a small township called Poortjie.I was raised by my mother (my father left when i was still young), I grew up with my two siblings (my older brother and little sister). Growing up I was a quiet child even my friends would get annoyed because I was always quiet, besides all of that I had a great childhood.
Then 2016 was the year for me ,I made myself and my family proud I was doing grade 12 and I passed all my subjects, unfortunately I could not continue with my studies due to financial problems .I stayed at home for six months then in June i did a computer course at Bathopele community centre that is where I heard about the Isipho Admin Bursary.
This year I want to work hard in order to get my Higher Certificate in Office Administration. I want to make myself and family proud and I also want to work hard in order to change the life of my mother and my siblings.
Thank you to Stacey King for funding my slot for 2018, I am very grateful"

Susan Engelbrecht will be Fatima's mentor
In her own words
"My name is Fatima Rasebila Utsulo. I am 21yrs old, coming from a family of 5. I grew up in a place called Poortjie in the South of Johannesburg. I started school at Ahanang Primary School then proceeded to Thusa Setjhaba Secondary School. I wrote my matric in 2016.
I am a hard worker and a self driven person who always aim high. My goal for this year is to pass my studies with good marks, therefore ensuring that I have the tools to become a professional assistant! I am dedicated and will work hard to make my dream become a reality. I’ve taken it upon myself to research what being a PA is all about and can confirm that I definitely want to serve people, gain their trust and do everything in my power to be successful. Education is important as it is the key to my success; the key to opening a bright future and making my dreams come true.
With the investment made in me to complete my certification in Office Administration, I can only thank Isipho Admin for giving me the opportunity to shine. I know I will achieve success through the support I have from my mentor, Susan Engelbrecht, Isipho Admin Bursary and my family. A special thank you to Richard Arnott from BMTG Ltd whose financial support has made my dream become a reality."
